Female-fronted hard rock quartet Hastang recently released their music video for their single “Oblivion” in Studio 23’s MYX. Conceptualized and directed by Rember Gelera, the video debuted last February 3, 2006 on RockMYX.

Hastang first burst into the Cebuano music scene in the summer of 2005 when they made it to the finals of the MTV Hits Cebu Band Showdown with a lacerating original composition called “Oblivion”. Fittingly, the indie band has picked the same song from their upcoming debut release as its carrier single and the first ever music video in the band’s discography.

Producing a music video is definitely a big step forward for this band, which just completed the recording of their first album last year. The record will contain eleven original songs composed and arranged by the band members including “Oblivion”, one of the first songs they’ve written as a group.

For its video, Hastang worked with Manila-based director Rember Gelera. Shot in location somewhere in Novaliches last December, the music video features all the band members performing in an old, decrepit house. Post-production roughly took almost two months in order to bring Gelera’s vision to life and by the start of February, Studio’s 23 MYX included it in their RockMYX play list.
