He was introduced as “DonDon of Hastang” in the recently concluded Cebu Guitar Fest. But to us, he is simply Gaw (i.e., “Ang siGAW ng Hastang”). — A quiet, subdued guitar genius who doesn’t know just how talented he is. Gaw, we’ve said this often, and we won’t tire of saying this for as long as we live: it’s always an honor to play music with you.
Makoy is a voracious eater, an avid scuba diver, a photography enthusiast, a powerful singer, a self-confessed geek, and a passionate drummer. When he's not slaving in front of the computer or playing percussions for Hastang, he moonlights as a photo blogger in his Trick of Light.

the recent cebu guitar music festival was really a blast.. while other guitar players dazzled the audience with lightning-fast fretwork, a select few, like Gaw, provided the poetry.. and THAT is how you play great blues.. nifty..
